Freedom, a lovely word. But what does it mean to you? what kind of freedom? and freedom from what?

Their are several kinds of freedom…

Geographical freedom, traveling to and fro as you please.

Temporal freedom, not having to be anywhere but where you please.

Emotional freedom, not being limited by emotions but having the peace to enjoy.

Financial freedom, having all the money you need for the lifestyle you desire.

Relational freedom, having the opportunity to spend time with the people you want to and not being forced to spend it with those that you don’t.

Creative freedom, having the tools and time and energy to explore your creativity and talents.

Mental freedom, having peace of mind while not being troubled by negative thoughts.

Now all these are great, I mean just look at all that freedom! How many problems would be lessened or how many problems could you avoid with a little more Temporal Freedom.

Thankfully The Lord has blessed me to enjoy several of these kinds of freedom in abundance, now despite this my definition of freedom is none of the ones I have just mentioned.

…my definition of freedom is, The Lord Jesus Christ Himself because:

John 8:36

“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”

Because where He is… that’s where freedom is.

2 Corinthians 3:17

“Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”

Few people will truly comprehend the depth of this meaning, but nonetheless  that to me, is what true freedom is.

Matthew 7:14

“Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”

And because of this it becomes much easier for me to encourage and to help you navigate this ocean of emotion and guide you towards greater freedom and fuller expression of life.

And with just a little freedom, you can do alot. And I think that there’s greater value in freedom… as opposed to getting more things. For example…

Being free from stress vs. getting your adrenaline pumping. Or being free from arguments vs. working to win arguments. Or being free from the opinions of others vs. working to gain approval from people. Or being poor vs. giving up parts of your soul every single day.

We all have different temperaments. Different moods. Different personality types. Different emotional patterns and needs. Different likes and dislikes.

And truly there is a season for everything.

Ecclesiastes 3:1

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:”

But consider this…

Do you remember the joy of those days you had when you were younger, when you for whatever reason, didn’t have to go to school, but got the day off…?

That’s what the kind of thing Im talking about.

See you in class 🌸✨
